GLIAL FIBRILLARY ACIDIC PROTEIN, abbreviated GFAP,[1] was one of the first delevloped antibodies and is a common immunostain used in neuropathology. It's expression is associated with glial differentiation, especially with astrocytes.

- Astrocytes (upregulated in reactive astrocytes) [2]
- astrocytoma and glioblastoma[3]
- minigemistcytes in oligodendroglioma[4]
- ependymoma
- ocassionally in medulloblastoma, plexus apilloma, schwannoma[5]
