Sex cord-stromal tumours

Sex cord-stromal tumours (abbreviated SCSTs) are a group of tumours found in the testis and ovary that arise from the cells that support the germ cells.

They are typically benign, but may be malignant.

Some tumours classically found in the testis are also found in the ovary.

Testicular

• Leydig cell tumour.
• Sertoli cell tumour.

Ovarian

• Granulosa cell tumour.
  • Adult granulosa cell tumour.
  • Juvenile granulosa cell tumour.
• Sertoli-Leydig cell tumour.
• Sex cord tumour with annular tubules (SCTAT).

Arise from gonadal stroma:

• Ovarian fibroma.
• Thecoma.
• Unclassified gonadal stromal tumour.
