Carney triad
The Carney triad is the occurrence of three tumours in the same patient.
It should not be confused with the Carney complex.
The triad
It is composed of:[1]
- Gastric gastrointestinal stromal tumour (GIST).
- Pulmonary chondroma.
- Paraganglioma (extra-adrenal).
Trivia
The triad predated the GIST and was initially described as be composed of a (gastric) leiomyoma, paraganglioma and (pulmonary) chondroma.[2]
