Hemangioblastoma is a low grade brain tumour tumour typically found the cerebellum.

Microscopic

Features:[2]

  • Vascular.
  • Polygonal stromal cells with:
    • Hyperchromatic nuclei.
    • Vacuolar cytoplasm.

  • Alpha-inhibin +ve (cytoplasm).
  • EMA -ve.
    • RCC typically +ve.
  • NSE +ve (nucleus + cytoplasm).
    • RCC typically -ve.
