Nuclear pleomorphism is a common finding in malignant lesions.

It is the marked variation of:[1]

  1. Nuclear size.
  2. Nuclear shape.
  3. Nuclear staining (esp. hyperchromasia).

Memory device 3 S: size, shape, staining.

Anisonucleosis

Anisonucleosis is often used as a synonym for nuclear pleomorphism, though is not exactly the same as it does not include variation in staining. Anisonucleosis is variation of shape; iso- means equal,[2] an- means not.[3]
